1:43 Datsun 240Z Safari Rally

Saturday morning, I went to The University of the Philippines because I think its the nearest place from where I am that has wide open spaces. I planned going around 7am but overslept and arrived there around 8:30am. Good thing clouds were abundant so to filter out the strong light.

But there where only a few nice spaces available, you can't park anywhere, specially in the main roads, and roaming security made it hard for me to find a perfect spot. The grassy areas also where wet because it rained in the early mornings. I might come back around March and look for other areas there.

A big thanks to Eddie for the inspiration!

Featured Collector: 1:18 Gallery by Eddie

I'm a long time fan of Eddie, his 1:18 collection is truly an awesome sight to see. He doesn't only have a vast collection of diecast models but he takes pictures of his collection in a way that they would look real. Eddie just joined us in our club just a few weeks back and shared his most treasured photos and collection.

One of our member, Mike(MMC) was lucky enough to visit Eddie in California to see personally his collection. And shared to us his awesome diecast collection. Note, this are just part of Eddie's collection.

And these are Eddie's diecast in exquisite panoramic shots! I think he travels with around 6-7 diecast in the trunk of his vehicle always looking for that perfect shot.

And here is a sample of how Eddie takes pictures of his beloved diecast...

Fiat Abarth Rally 1980 Rally Monte Carlo

Fiath Abarth Rally Monte Carlo 1980 Gr4 Calberson
driven by Andruet/Biche Monte Carlo 1980

In 1976, 500 examples of Fiat 131 Abarth Rallye were built for homolgation purposes. This car included many technical modifications such as 16-valve DOHC engine producing 140 PS (or 138hp),
mechanical fuel injection and independent rear suspension. In race specifications, the engine produced around 215 PS (or (212 hp) in season 1977.

The Series 2
The 131 got a minor facelift in 1978. New DOHC, or "Twin Cam" (TC) engines arrived, and these models were badged as SuperMirafiori. Biggest change exterior wise was larger rectangular shaped front lights, new bumpers, new bigger rear lights and new interior trim. In 1978, the 2-door sporting version Racing (Mirafiori Sport in the UK) with 115 PS (113 hp/85 kW) DOHC engine, was launched. This car had four round headlights (the inner headlights being smaller than the outer ones (unlike any other mirafiori model produced)), different grille, spoilers and extended wheel arches, and a short-throw 5 speed gearbox. The Racing had top speed of 180 km/h (112 mph).

Porsche 911S Rally Monte Carlo 1972

Spent the morning yesterday at my brothers house in the hills of Rizal, thought I'd bring one diecast for a photoshoot, brought one of my diorama also. Problem was, the sun was already too bright and i forgot to bring an umbrella to filter the strong light, maybe i'll re-shoot the next time we go back there.
